On Christmas Day 2023, Kevin (far right), Flori (far left) and her husband Eddie (not in photo) drove deep into the woods to delivery a food basket to a family of three in the small town of Roxana (in the province of Limon, Costa Rica). The mother suffers from cancer and diabetes and her son was crippled at birth. The father works for very low wages at a nearby orchard that grows and exports plants to the US. Nevertheless, their spirits were high as everyone conversed and laughed on Christmas Day. Kevin called into a scheduled Zoom call with his family back in the US (luckily there was phone signal) during the visit. And, at least his sister knew enough Spanish to tell everyone Feliz Navidad (haha).
