Mar-26-2024: It was not Philadelphia and it was not 1991, but I could almost hear DJ Jazzy Jeff & the Fresh Prince singing “Summertime”. Instead, we were at Aguas Claras (which means “Clear Waters”) and it was Semana Santa (“Holy Week”) 2024. Kevin’s foundation sponsored the entire trip for 25 kids and 6 adult helpers.
The kids found heaven on earth (or in the water). Most of them had never been outside their neighborhood. That explains their crazy excitement, and why they kept calling Mely the prior week asking how many more days before the trip.
It was an incredible day for everyone. And, the first-ever trip for Kevin and his team was a huge success!
